Indigenous Literacy Day

September 4, 2013

Today is Indigenous Literacy Day in Australia.   As they say on their website:

Indigenous Literacy Day aims to help raise funds to raise literacy levels and improve the lives and opportunities of Indigenous Australians living in remote and isolated regions. We need your support to help raise funds to buy books and literacy resources for children in these communities.

You might want to contribute by Get caught reading.  This way you can share a photograph of yourself reading as well as donate so that people in remote communities in Australia can be helped with their reading.

You can read some further information about the need for a focus on Indigenous literacy here.

You might want to donate directly here.
